Scott L. Aeilts

With more than thirty-two years of leadership experience in complex organizations, Scott Aeilts has consistently guided enterprise-level operations essential to mission success and organizational performance.

He currently serves as the associate laboratory director for Business Management at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), where he strategically leads enterprise functions, including Chief Financial Officer activities, Chief Information Officer activities, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, project management, contractor assurance, quality, and other business operations.

Before joining LANL, Scott was the associate laboratory director for Mission Services at Sandia National Laboratories, a role he held for eight years. There, he oversaw all business operations including enterprise project management.

Earlier in his career, Scott served as chief financial officer and senior director of strategy and operations at the Kansas City National Security Campus. In these roles, he directed financial operations and spearheaded initiatives in enterprise strategy deployment, Six Sigma, business operating systems, and continuous improvement.

Scott holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Six Sigma Green Belt. An engaged community leader, he has served on the board of the University of New Mexico Anderson Foundation and the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce.
