The 7th Annual Supper Club
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS YEAR’S SUPPER CLUB A HUGE SUCCESS!
WE’VE RAISED OVER $188,263 AND COUNTING!
On September 8th, CFFNM staff, board members and many of our dedicated donors joined us again for the Supper Club at The Compound to raise funds for the 10/10 Visionary Fund, our permanently restricted endowment. Due to the pandemic, this was our first in-person fundraiser in over 18 months and it was well worth the wait! The excitement of being back together again was palpable throughout the night.
The crowd gathered early in the evening at The Compound on their gorgeous patio surrounded by colorful flowers between cocktails and some unforgettable appetizers. Attendees got to reconnect with friends they had not seen in more than a year and also met new acquaintances who were interested in supporting cancer patients.
The night was particularly special as we were able to honor Valerie and Bud Hamilton for their years of commitment to helping cancer patients in New Mexico. Many of you know Bud for his unrelenting devotion to cancer patients while working as the CFFNM Board Chair and Valerie’s countless hours volunteering in the chemo room at the Cancer Center. Executive Director Vince Baca presented the first ever Hamilton Visionary Award to the Hamiltons for their extraordinary dedication over the years supporting cancer patients in New Mexico.
Christa Woods, a nurse at the Cancer Center gave a moving speech about working with cancer patients and the real impact of your donations to CFFNM.
We also brought back Richard Lampert our beloved auctioneer from the Sweetheart Auction to join us this year at the Supper Club for the most exciting part of the night, a very successful paddle raiser. So far we have now raised $188,263 and counting! We are so grateful to each and every one of you that donated, attended the Supper Club and continued to support us over the past year. And a big thanks to Christus St Vincents for exclusively sponsoring this year’s Supper Club!
Please be sure to join our email list to receive notifications when tickets go on sale next year.
About the Event:
Wednesday, September 8th from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.
The 7th Annual Supper Club was held this year at the Compound Restaurant on Wednesday, September 8th. Attendees enjoyed a menu crafted by James Beard Award-winning Chef Mark Kiffin, and learned more about the progress of the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico 10/10 Visionary Fund, a permanently restricted endowment that helps ensure future sustainability for the foundation.
$250 per person included a cocktail reception and hors d’oeuvres followed by a three-course dinner.
The 10/10 Visionary Fund:
During the past 18 years, the requests for Cancer Foundation for New Mexico’s life-critical services has grown steadily. As the only local organization to provide a high level of consistent support services to in-need cancer patients in northern New Mexico, we assisted with more than 28,841 patient visits in Santa Fe in the past 12 months. To date no patient who qualifies for our services has been turned away.
To plan for the future, in 2015 our leadership established the 10/10 Visionary Fund, so called because our goal is to raise $10 million in 10 years. The 10/10 Visionary Fund will build an endowment with earnings that will generate ongoing income to support the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico mission.
Each gift is a building block for the future. Contributions to this endowment will help save lives by ensuring that the good work of the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico will continue for as long as cancer exists. Click here for more info.
James Beard Foundation’s “Best Chef in the Southwest 2005,” Mark Kiffin — chef and owner of The Compound Restaurant — has worked, written, and taught in the restaurant industry for more than 25 years. A recognized leader in Southwestern cuisine, Kiffin creates a seasonal, Contemporary American Menu combining the diverse culinary influences of the Mediterranean with those of the New World. Bon Appétit Magazine calls The Compound “One of the region’s best restaurants, showcasing Mark’s sophisticated brand of southwestern cuisine with Mediterranean accents.” Judith Hill of The Santa Fe New Mexican called her experience “Zen like” and refers to Kiffin’s passion and flavors as a personal affair with food.
