10/10 Visionary Fund

The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico is the only local organization to provide consistent and comprehensive support services to cancer patients in northern New Mexico.  We assisted with more than 16,000 patient visits in the past twelve months, an all-time high.  Here is one story:

“All the help you offered — hotel room, gas reimbursement, grocery cards, and more — made a huge difference during this challenging eight-week process of radiation.  It’s hard to imagine how we would have been able to get to this treatment from Mora without your help.”

This increase in demand for our services requires additional spending to provide for cancer patients in need and their families.  In the past five years, the patient services budget has nearly doubled!  To date, no patient who qualifies for our services has been turned away.  To ensure this mission continues without interruption, the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico established the 10/10 Visionary Fund, a permanently restricted endowment, so named because we hope to raise 10 million dollars in 10 years.

Our objective is to build a permanently restricted endowment to generate the income needed to cover operating costs, thus allowing all other fundraising to be earmarked for life-saving programs – travel reimbursement, lodging, groceries, weekly support groups, volunteer training, Spanish-speaking translators. and information on community resources.
