With more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, Sonja has built successful fundraising, public relations, and marketing programs for community-based organizations. A native Santa Fean, she spent two decades in the San Francisco Bay Area organizing community events and advancing animal welfare causes before returning home in 2018.
A graduate of Bowdoin College and holder of an MBA from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, Sonja brings both academic training and practical expertise to her role. At the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico, she combines her passion for relationship building with creative fundraising strategies to ensure that every New Mexican facing a cancer diagnosis has access to the care and support they need throughout treatment.
Outside of work, Sonja enjoys time with her extended Santa Fe family, hiking with her dogs, and wading in nearby rivers with her husband, Greg.
