Every year, the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico comes together with our valued partners at Los Ojos de la Familia in Albuquerque to create a heartwarming experience for families in need. Our annual Holiday Gift Basket Event is a cherished tradition that brings warmth, love, and hope to those facing challenging times during the holiday season.

A Powerful Partnership

Los Ojos provides the foundation with the basic box of food, an incredible gesture that includes over 70 lbs of essential supplies for holiday meals. It’s the cornerstone of our mission to make the holidays brighter for our patients and their families.

Adding the Magic Touch

But we don’t stop there! The Cancer Foundation supplements these boxes with a touch of holiday magic, including fresh fruit baskets, hams, turkeys, delectable treats, family presents, and toys for the children. It’s our way of spreading the joy and love that define this festive season.

Honoring a Beloved Colleague

Our 2023 event holds a special place in our hearts as we dedicate it to the memory of our dear friend and colleague, John ‘Obie’ Oberhausen. For Obie, the Holiday Basket project was a lifelong passion, and he played a pivotal role in making this event a reality for our patients and their families. His spirit lives on through this very special project, touching the lives of countless individuals.

Delivering Hope, One Basket at a Time

The delivery date for these heartwarming baskets is Saturday, December 16. We have 60 boxes to deliver to cancer patients in Santa Fe, Espanola, Las Vegas, Pueblos, and smaller towns in the area. However, we can’t do it without your help! The boxes are quite heavy, so having a helper is essential.
