“How amazing to have Elizabeth and her sweet family drop by on Saturday with such a huge haul of food, the cozy blanket, and the completely unexpected gift of cash! I cannot express how grateful I am for ALL the support that the Cancer Foundation has blessed me with in this difficult year.” – Holiday Basket Recipient

Thank You!

The 2025 Baskets of Hope event was a powerful expression of community care and compassion. Thanks to an extraordinary group of volunteers, donors, and partners, 73 holiday basket deliveries were made to cancer patients and families across Northern New Mexico. Volunteers traveled more than 3,000 miles in a single day, bringing food, gifts, and personal connection directly to neighbors facing cancer during one of the most challenging times of the year. Each delivery was more than a basket. It was a reminder that no one is alone on their journey.

This year’s baskets were thoughtfully curated with guidance from dietitians to include nourishing foods that support patients during treatment, alongside familiar New Mexico favorites like tortillas, beans, rice, green chile, and homemade biscochitos. Families also received cash assistance to help ease holiday expenses and carefully chosen gifts for children and grandchildren, bringing dignity, comfort, and moments of joy.

We are profoundly grateful to everyone who made Baskets of Hope possible. From the children and teachers who decorated boxes, to LANL employees who filled them with food, to volunteers who wrapped gifts, coordinated logistics, and delivered baskets door to door, every contribution mattered. Your generosity made hope tangible and personal for families facing cancer, and your commitment continues to bring hope for every journey throughout Northern New Mexico.

Thank you for caring so deeply for your neighbors.
