Hands_webThe Cancer Foundation for New Mexico provides non-medical support services for patients who receive cancer treatment in Santa Fe.

Services for which patients need to qualify:

  • Financial support for travel related to cancer treatment including gas mileage reimbursement;
  • Direct reimbursement to partner hotels; and
  • Meal support through grocery gift cards during active chemotherapy and radiation treatment

Services available to all patients irrespective of financial need:

  • Support groups for patients and caregivers;Information on community-wide resources to assist patients;
  • Community education programs on cancer-related topics, pamphlets on prevention, early detection, treatments, and books on survivorship and management¬† post-treatment;
  • Volunteer services including support in chemotherapy and radiation treatment areas; and
  • Spanish-speaking volunteers to interpret during exams and treatment (must call Caroline Owen at (505) 955-7931, ext. 3 to schedule)

Patients may self-refer or be referred by a treating health professional. All services provided are support-oriented and non-medical. These services do not include reimbursement for medical care, medical supplies or equipment, insurance payments or co-pays, or coverage for medications.
